Beak synch (talking birds)

The idea behind this test (the beak on the right) was to study the possibilities of lip synchronisation for the bird characters of my final project. It is a common belief among animators that with 6 major mouth shapes it is possible to synchronise almost any dialogue with mouth movements. The point to remember when lip synching is that our lips open when we use vowel sounds like a,e, i, o and u.

Of course since our birds characters have human characteristics and talk in the film the same rule of thumb is applicable.
