Final Project script (revised)

FADE IN:
ON TOP OF THE CLIFF DAY

High upon the misty mountains in his eyrie lived Oghab the greatest and most majestic of the birds, the King of the Eagles. As the golden sun rose each morning and its warmth woke him from his slumbers he would prepare to hunt from his lofty perch.

Until today.

For as he stood surveying his domain, from the distant valley meadows to the sparkling mountain springs he realised that soon his glorious life would come to an end.

And so it was, deep in thought and hoping for answers Oghab gracefully lifted himself in to the air, wings spread wide, he caressed the gentle breeze and wheeled away…

OVER THE PLAINS DAY

Eagle flies over the plains with his splendid wings and flying style.
Seeing the eagle a partridge takes refuge under bushes and a snake slides into a hole to escape the danger, a flock of sheep panics and runs around in turmoil, a deer stands up, looks into the air then runs away, leaving a white cloud of dust behind.
The eagle, however, has something else on his mind and keeps flying.

DUMPING GROUND DAY

The Eagle flies until he arrives at a plain where a black crow lives, a stingy ugly pest who has survived many incidents and lived for many, many years.
Seeing the Crow, the Eagle quickly descends towards him and sits on the ground next to him.

DUMPING GROUND DAY
CROW
Ah… Good morning highness. A pleasant surprise I’m sure. Can I offer you a meal, but please, I am not offering myself you understand
OGHAB
Oh, don’t panic please. I’m not that hungry, I mean, look at you. I am curious to understand the secret of your lengthy life... (sniffing) What’s that?
CROW
Rotten fish. A delicious meal. And our secret. This is our guarantee of a long life. We feed from the dead, and fly close to the ground. That is why we live so long. The dead give us life. Our lives spent closer to the earth while you aspire to reach the heavens.

DUMPING GROUND LATE AFTERNOON
OGHAB
Ah, I would rather leave such a life to you dear crow, no matter how long it may be. A short life living in the skies today is better to me than a long existence such as this in squalor and decay.
Oghab flapps his wings and starts ascending over the dumping point

OGHAB
Farewell crow. And thank-you .
Oghab flies higher and higher untill he vanishes in the skies

DISSOLVE TO:
SUN SET
The sun is gradually setting behind the mountains as the glamorous eagle vanishes into the heights. The valley is orange and faint voices can be heard from the distance.
FADE TO BLACK.

THE END
